Course Introduction
This Cloud Computing Technology course focuses on cutting-edge Virtual Data Center and Cloud Computing technologies. An understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts and terminology are second nature to the Cloud Technology Professional, as well as the advantages, disadvantages, and general implications of using and combining common cloud computing mechanisms and cloud security mechanisms.
2+ years IT experience in Datacenter - Including OS, Networking, or Storage

Successful completion of this course will help students to master key Cloud Computing technology concepts and hands-on implementation skills. It will also help students to prepare Cloud Computing certification – EMC Cloud Architect certification, EMC Data Center Architect Certification and VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
In addition, the Cloud Technology Professional must possess the ability to associate cloud computing mechanisms to the realization of specific characteristics, benefits, and goals assigned to cloud environments and cloud-based solutions. Conversely, the Cloud Technology Professional needs to be able to identify the common threats and challenges to cloud services and supporting IT resources, in order to leverage cloud security mechanisms and when necessary, moderate the use of cloud computing mechanisms.
In addition, the Cloud Technology Professional must possess the ability to associate cloud computing mechanisms to the realization of specific characteristics, benefits, and goals assigned to cloud environments and cloud-based solutions. Conversely, the Cloud Technology Professional needs to be able to identify the common threats and challenges to cloud services and supporting IT resources, in order to leverage cloud security mechanisms and when necessary, moderate the use of cloud computing mechanisms.
The course includes the following parts:
(1) Virtual Data Center and Cloud Computing
(2) Data Center Fundamentals
(3) VDC: Virtualization and Consolidation
(4) VDC Management and Security
(5) PaaS: VMware vCloud Director
(6) IaaS: VMware+Cisco+EMC
Students will expect 50% of Lectures and 50% of LAB. The lectures will emphasis a CLEAR understanding of Cloud Computing and virtual Data Center concepts. The LABs will train hands-on skills for VDC Design, vCloud configuration and Deployment. By the end of the course, a mini cloud computing system will be designed and deployed by the students.
